Should birth control pills be available to teens without permission or a prescription? Everyone’s opinion will be different, But I think that yes there should be certain birth control pills available for teens. Every type of birth control has a certain level of estrogen. Clinics offering birth control to teens should be offering birth control with low estrogen levels. They may not be what is best for them. But it’s better than putting all your trust in “other” types of protection. Which should always be used. But birth control is a safety net for teens because they get wreckless. 47% of teens in the USA between the ages of 14-19 are getting pregnant. Most of them are not on any form of birth control. Most parents don’t think their kids are even sexually active. So they don’t know to put their daughters on birth control. On the other hand I don’t think it’s healthy for teens to be on birth control not prescribed by the family doctor. Certain levels of estrogen levels can be harmful for teens. It’s a touchy area. Teens shouldn’t be out sleeping around, But lets face it most of them do. And their teens, They will do whatever they want. Unless you plan on homeschooling and and chaining them to the house, You can’t really stop them. Just like if they want to do drugs, If they want to do it bad enough they will find a way! I can safely say that when teens come home to tell their parents that they were stupid and got pregnant. The parents are probably yelling about why they never talked to their parents or got on the pill! These kids are now responsible for another persons life. Assuming they don’t get an abortion. Which I personally don’t condone. They have to stay in school and make a future for their child or find a good family who’s willing to adopt. Adoption can be stressful and not every teen mother will want to do that. I’ve seen first hand what teen pregnancy can do to someone. It’s not a mistake you can take back it will always be there. It’s hard to stay in school for some people. Add a child into that mix? Between homework, working to raise your kid, nursing them, school, trying to sleep and take care of yourself. You’ll be lucky to have time to shower. Pregnant teens don’t consider all the risks. When you ask them who’s taking care of their kids, They’ll say I’ll drop out of school or my parents. WRONG!!!!!! you will be taking care of your kid. Changing diapers, bathing them, feeding them, playing with them. Just wait til they start crawling and walking. It’s not getting any easier. So in conclusion I do think there should be a safe place to get birth control for teens because they aren’t ready for the responsibility of another human being. They can’t be held accountable for their own lives let alone a baby. Teens these days probably should be on birth control. Watch the video below I couldn't agree more!
